I wield my pen wishing to shower delight!
Alas! I know not,reason-but only agony beget!
My pen sharper than a sword
To cut the hearts of none but my own...

While I wield my pen..I wish to be sharper, happier & warmer..
Lo! it turned always to be Sadder!

I knelt be'fore the caged beasts& birds..
& Offered 'em none but a smile:
A human like expression
Is that I found in "em!
as I proceeded....

Oh! Gave blood & sweat to
Thee O' Men!
& You Fret & Fume at me in return?

While feelings in beasts
Can we Ken,
Where are those in Men?
Beasts & Birds 're thy Friends
Then why for get we fiend?

Rock!!Rock! Rock!!!

Men call me as hard as hard could be.
Oh! I suppose you look deep into me
To know ,I have feelings too,
And Would like to live like you!

For as you men tramp me,
Every nerve Cramps.
My Agony Craves to interrogate " won't you Tardy?
Accepting your Tread. I'm
Hastening away from human Clattery..

In vain as I still be trampled under your feet to melt...
Still you call me as hard as a Rock?
Who's hard?We the Rocks......Or....?.

On the verge of losing hope in life
Two tender hands caressed me..
assuring me of the Warmth..

A gentle smile re-entered my face...
And Ah !displayed elation on & on...
Enraptured by the Care given forth!

Alas! t'was hard to realize ,it's a mere dream !
And it's as short lived as a bubble !!
As the Care's just.... just too superficial!!!!

To be attached or may I be detached?
A conflict popping up my mind.
Can another shock be taken forth?

The Church Bells tolled Six:
Awakening a maddening thought of parting with you.
Through the Window saw I
the Ebb & Flow lamenting your departure!
Desired to Walk On Shore...
To take solace in the Gurgling Foam...
Hardly realizing ,I'm Crippled!

Quotes for us teachers!!

Here are some quotes I like,

  • Teaching is the profession that teaches all the other professions
  • Good teaching is one-fourth preparation and three-fourths theater.
  • A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others.
  • A good teacher is a master of simplification and an enemy of simplism.
  • Good teachers are costly, but bad teachers cost more.
  • The best teacher is the one who suggests rather than dogmatizes, and inspires his listener with the wish to teach himself.
  • A teacher's purpose is not to create students in his own image, but to develop students who can create their own image.
  • Teaching should be full of ideas instead of stuffed with facts.
  • A teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge, and wisdom in the pupils.
  • Who dares to teach must never cease to learn.

Hope you liked them...

managing children differently

A wise person doesn't do different things but does the common things differently !!
As teachers we all need to remember this. If you want to leave your foot prints on the sand you can't drag your feet you have to walk firmly so that you leave your foot print behind you.
Every child is different. This is the thumb rule a teacher has to keep in mind. Then it will be easier to address the needs of different students differently. It is wrong to correct the child .We need to be prepared for a child's boundless imagination which is not caged like ours.Their strenght of mind always surprises us if we really try to probe into.Teachers find the learn-by-heart pattern very easy as it not challenging. But observation and using sensory organs is the most effective way of learning.
Today I will deal with three challenging behavioural pattern of children
1. Difficulty remaining seated or in aparticular position when required to : Allow for frequent opportunities to move around. Allow space for movement monitoring and instructing not to disturb others in the class.
2.Frequent fidgeting with feet, hand or objects ,squirming in seat.: Give positive reinforcement for accomplishments(this type of behaviour is often due to frustration)Allow alternative movement when ever possible.
3.Frequent Excessive talking.: Reinforce listening Skills. Engage the child in Listening tasks. Entrust the responsibility of class and ask the child to listen to what othres are reading /speaking and ask her to judge.

To all my dear pre-primary teachers,

I would like to share my experience and feelings on what a teacher means to the world and to the innocent child. Though I come from a non-teaching background, being a teacher has been my most soul touching experience! I feel like I'm one among the children, and every emotion of my children makes me realise how important life is,how important we are to them and that we can make or break a person with our good intentions...

I feel childhood is the most formative, enjoyable part of life.Whatever we accept or grasp at this stage remains with us for the rest of our life. A small child knows only the language of love.Till they come to school, they are in the warmth of their parents love and thus adjusting to a new environment like school may seem like a huge mission to them. But when they find similar love in school, they adjust sooner and overcome all their fears. A teacher must first win the heart of the child by understanding , listening and also by being one of them.Once this is accomplished, learning and facing new challenges becomes fun and simple.

New topics taught to the children must be related to day-to-day examples so that the child can understand and relate to it better. A teacher must be a very good listener, in order to inculcate confidence among them.Only by doing so the children open up and share more things. They should feel that their teacher is one among them. Once this is achieved TEACHING, for teachers and EDUCATION for children becomes a cake walk!!
