A wise person doesn't do different things but does the common things differently !!
As teachers we all need to remember this. If you want to leave your foot prints on the sand you can't drag your feet you have to walk firmly so that you leave your foot print behind you.
Every child is different. This is the thumb rule a teacher has to keep in mind. Then it will be easier to address the needs of different students differently. It is wrong to correct the child .We need to be prepared for a child's boundless imagination which is not caged like ours.Their strenght of mind always surprises us if we really try to probe into.Teachers find the learn-by-heart pattern very easy as it not challenging. But observation and using sensory organs is the most effective way of learning.
Today I will deal with three challenging behavioural pattern of children
1. Difficulty remaining seated or in aparticular position when required to : Allow for frequent opportunities to move around. Allow space for movement monitoring and instructing not to disturb others in the class.
2.Frequent fidgeting with feet, hand or objects ,squirming in seat.: Give positive reinforcement for accomplishments(this type of behaviour is often due to frustration)Allow alternative movement when ever possible.
3.Frequent Excessive talking.: Reinforce listening Skills. Engage the child in Listening tasks. Entrust the responsibility of class and ask the child to listen to what othres are reading /speaking and ask her to judge.
